The Posture of Warfare!
Listen to this sermon
Last week, we focused on the importance of knowing God as the core principle of warfare. We said: “Know Your God, Know yourself; A thousand battles, a thousand Victories!” This week, we are focused on knowing yourself especially on the posture we have in warfare!
In physical combat, our posture or stance is critically important to our ability to attack, defend, advance or retreat swiftly! In spiritual warfare, our posture is even more critical to our ability to wage a successful warfare against the enemy. Do you have the right posture for successful warfare?
The answer to this important question can be found in the book of Ephesians – the letter that Paul the apostle wrote to a city that was experiencing revival and transformation since he first invested 2 years there. In fact history tells us that John the apostle went to Ephesus after his exile in the island of Patmos. He played a key role in finishing what Paul had started – the transformation of a city that was given over to the goddess Artemis.
The church in Ephesus received very important instructions in this letter concerning how they can thrive in their warfare against the enemy. There are many truths that can be gleaned from this letter and our focus in our sermon today will be the overall emphasis of Paul – The Posture of Warfare. Learn this posture well and you will be on your way to your own success in warfare and city transformation!
