Wilderness: Death or Destiny!

Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Numbers 20:1 Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there..28 And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount:
Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. 5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

The Wilderness is a very important passage in the life of Christians as the seeds of destiny or death will begin to manifest in their lives. In other words, wilderness is the place where it will bring out the best or the worst in our lives! It will show you who you really are! It is often a place of stress, discomfort, hunger, thirst and temptation. It will drive us closer to God or some might fall away! It is a time where we will realize how wonderful our God is and to understand that His grace is sufficient for us.

Moses was sorely tested in the wilderness! For the most part, he did well until towards the end where his anger had the better of him. Miriam and Aaron too fell in the wilderness season of their lives! Before Abraham could realize greatness, it must first leave the land of plenty and follow the Lord into the Wilderness! David spent many years in the wilderness running away from Saul and he turned his wilderness journey into a time of training to reign! Not only that, he used the wilderness to turn a bunch of hopeless rejects to become mighty men of God!

What determines the outcome of your journey into the wilderness? Jesus exemplified victory in the wilderness best! He prepared himself to overcome the enemy in the wilderness by fasting and praying! He knew the word of God so well that he could use it effectively to overcome the lies of the enemy! You too can overcome the enemy in your wilderness and graduated from the university of wilderness ready for ministry prepared for you!
