The Unclean, the Common, the Sacred!
Listen to this sermon
The Book of Leviticus has been a most boring book for many Christians to read unless they can read it from a macro perspective and through the lenses of the New Testament.
When we can do that, we will realize how wonderfully clear many New Testament Truths become when viewed against the background of the laws of God in Leviticus. One will be struck with the comprehensiveness with which Leviticus addresses all aspects of our lives.
You will realize that all things in life can be classified under the Unclean, the Common and the Sacred category. Through God, we can move the unclean to the common and the common can be dedicated to God to become sacred! I will show you a diagram of God’s perspective of Life and you are empowered to cleanse and consecrate the things in life such that holiness becomes your hallmark.
You will also learn from the sermon about the shift that has taken place from the Old to the New Testament concerning what can defile. Knowing this shift will prevent you from walking in legalism so that in Him you are free to live and move and have your being!
Matt 15:16 Jesus said to them, “You are still no more intelligent than the others. 17 Don’t you understand? Anything that goes into your mouth goes into your stomach and then on out of your body. 18 But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these are the things that make you ritually unclean. 19 For from your heart come the evil ideas which lead you to kill, commit adultery, and do other immoral things; to rob, lie, and slander others. 20 These are the things that make you unclean. But to eat without washing your hands as they say you should—this doesn’t make you unclean.”
