Thriving in the Tribulation!

Amos 3:7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets

John 15:18 If the world hate you, you know that it hated me before it hated you.. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also

Matt 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you:

Matt 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

I read with great interest very recently that Dr Billy Graham issued a warning to American Christians to be ready and prepared for persecution! He was effectively saying that it is not normal for the church in America not to have any persecution for such a long time when Christians in so many nations of the world went through persecution and many of them were even martyred for Christ.

Can we expect persecution or tribulation as part of our calling to follow the Lord Jesus Christ? Based on the plain reading of the word, the answer is an emphatic YES!

In fact Jesus in Matthew 24 spoke clearly that there is come a great tribulation that will be so severe that in His grace and mercy, those days will be shortened for the sake of the Elect! To be forewarned is to be forearmed! When we expect it, half the battle is won.

We can prepare ourselves spiritually, physically, financially and even psychologically to thrive in those days of the tribulation. Thrive we must for he who endures to the end will be saved. May you be counted as those worthy to be persecuted for the sake of Christ, thrive in the tribulation and be raptured. Amen.
