Judgement as in the Days of Noah
2 Thess 2:3b …For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of de-struction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.
Matt 24:36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only
37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man…38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Matt 24:40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
Gen 6:1 When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose.
Gen 6:3 Then the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not abide in[a] man for-ever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of re-nown.
When Jesus was discussing with the disciples the end times in Matthew 24, He shared many things concerning what is to come. There was seemingly no reference to think about the future until he said that as in the days of Noah, so shall it be during the end times. Wow! What was it like in the days of Noah? If we can answer this question thoroughly, we will have a very clear picture of the days in the end times and be well-prepared for such times.
Jesus said that people will be eating and drinking and marrying… What is wrong with that? After all, eating, drinking and marrying are today’s norms eve-rywhere in the world! Is that a problem? Yes, because we would not be living in normal times, but the end times⎯–extra- ordinary times! Extraordinary times require an extraordinary response and lifestyle. Living in those times would be drastically different from what we would have had experienced! It is unchar-tered territory. Therefore, as Jesus has warned that it would be like in the days of Noah, it would be well and instructive for us to understand the dynam-ics of living in those times so that we can navigate the future with wis-dom! Pay special attention to this sermon and take heed to live differently—a life-changing difference for your future. Amen.
