Living From the Father’s House!

John 14:1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
5 “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. 7 If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!”

This is one of the most intriguing passages of scripture in the Bible. It contains one of the most comforting words from Jesus! He knew that in this world, there will be times when our hearts will be troubled! His exhortation to us is simple – put your trust in him and the Father and your hearts will not be troubled.

The reasons for us to put our trust in Him – because he has prepared enough room in the Father’s house for us! Many Christians presumed that this preparation is for the future but there was absolutely no mention of this in this passage. Why? Jesus did not say we will know the way to the Father in the future. Instead, He said that if we really know him, we will know the Father. Further, Jesus said he is the way to the Father!

This is not a future but a present experience that Jesus was referring to! It is just that we have always been thinking about the future when we go to heaven after we have passed on. But Jesus was really talking about now – it is now when our hearts are troubled and it is now we can find a solution to our troubled hearts by going to the Father! You can access Him today – Now! In Jesus, we can go to the Father! Amen.
