The Relentless Pursuit of Rest!

Heb 3:7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. 10 Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.’ 11 So I swore in My wrath,‘They shall not enter My rest.’”
Heb 4:8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God
Heb 4:11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

The title of this message seemed like an oxymoron! Rest paints a picture of relaxation, slowness and no aggression but the words relentless pursuit seemed to be full of passion, energy, quick movement and aggression!

Can we slide into rest or must we pursue it relentlessly? People slide into sin where there is no rest but rest in the bible must be purposefully pursued! Moses did not managed to lead the people into it but all except Caleb and Joshua perished in the desert without entering their rest! Joshua led the people into the promisedland but not into rest!
Jesus said to the people to come unto Him and He will give them rest (Matt 11:28). Why is rest so elusive? How can we enter into rest? Listen closely to this message as it will bring a change in your perspective and also a new door opened to you to enter into rest. Amen.
