Many will be Offended!

Matt 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another

Matt 26:33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. 34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

This message will be one of the most important you will hear and read! Why? It concerns your future, your destiny and how you will spend your eternity!

Jesus said that in the end times when the time of sorrows come and we will be afflicted, many will be offended! What does it mean to be offended? The Greek word is “Skandilzo” from which we get the English word scandalize.

The word means to put a stumbling block in someone’s path so they will fall; or to entice someone to sin, or fall away. It could also mean to cause a person to begin to distrust and desert one whom he ought to trust and obey.

This means many Christians will be stumbled in their faith in the end times! Why is this so? The account of Jesus and the disciples praying in Gethsemane is prophetic of the end times and tells us what could happen! None of the disciples believed they will deny Christ but they did! Why? What happened to Jesus stumbled them! They were not expecting that at all! For whatever reason, they believed that Jesus was coming back to restore the Kingdom – a physical one and they could not understand when he was taken away and worse still, crucified!

How about the end times? I believe many Christians have been taught something about the end times that will not prepare them at all for what is going to happen and they will be stumbled! What is this teaching that will eventually cause them to stumble? Listen carefully to the sermon and may you not repeat what had happened to the disciples two thousand years ago.
