Law, Grace or Glory in the Tabernacle!
Listen to this sermon
What has Law and Grace to do with the Tabernacle of David? The Context of Acts 15 was the occasion of the Council Meeting at Jerusalem to consider whether gentile Christians needed to be circumcised and obey the law of Moses in order to be saved. Now, this is a big question!
If the apostles were to decide according to how the people from Judaea had suggested, Christianity would have been very different for us! But it was not so and not supposed to be so! From what had happened during the meeting, there were opposing voices in the beginning even as Peter and later Paul and Barnabas were sharing about how the Lord had baptized the gentile believers in the Holy Spirit the same way that was experienced by the Jewish believers.
The debate went on until James, who was the leader of the Church in Jerusalem quoted a passage from the book of Amos about the restoration of the Tabernacle of David! He must have spoken with such an anointing of the Holy Spirit as the light shone on this matter and it was resolved!
This is amazing! How can the restoration of the Tabernacle of David resolve such a difficult issue that some Christians are still grappling with today? The answers can be found in the sermon today! Listen carefully and you will realize the wonderful revelation God has in store for us in the Tabernacle of David.
