Are You Greater than Moses and Elijah?

Matt 11:11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. (Amp)

Num 12:6 Then He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. 7 Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house. 8 I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant Moses?

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

In the Old Testament, Moses represents the Law and Elijah the Prophets. But more than this, Moses was an extremely high level prophet like Jesus! When Miriam and Aaron criticised Moses, God intervened and affirmed Moses as a Prophet whom He speaks to face to face and not through dreams and visions.

The Miracles that Moses did in Pharoah’s court was amazing and demonstrated God’s power over the enemy.

Elijah too was no ordinary prophet as he had faith to exercise authority over the weather! He also demonstrated extreme boldness by challenging all the prophets of baal to Mount Carmel and defeated them by calling fire from heaven. He raised the dead and performed miracles of provision too. So Moses and Elijah epitomised both the prophetic, faith and miracles of God. The question is: Are we greater than both of them? It would seem ridiculous to think that the answer is yes! As ridiculous as it sounds, the truth is we are! Now, how is that possible? Seemed too good to be true!

And that is why this sermon must be preached for us to understand how amazing the New Covenant is. When we understand who we are in Jesus Christ, it will free us to move in the way that was ordained for us and we will see the greater works promised in John 14:12 becoming a reality in our lives! Get prepared to let the truth set you free and fly! Amen.
