Goodness of God: Revolution of Identity!
“The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).
Gen 3:3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Gen 3:4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Ex 33:15 And Moses said to Him, “If Your presence does not go [with me], do not lead us up from here. 16 For how then can it be known that Your people and I have found favor in Your sight? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we are distinguished, Your people and I, from all the [other] people on the face of the earth?”
Luke 4:3 The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” 4 And Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone.’”
Throughout the Bible, we can notice that battles are won or lost based not on the superiority of strength or power but by the revelation or absence of Identity! Adam and Eve was doing fine in the garden of Eden until they begin to doubt their identity that made them fall into sin. They were already made in the image of God but they were led to doubt how they have been created. Why did they succumbed to this lie of the enemy? The reason is because they begin to doubt the goodness of God!
The Jewish people wasted 40 years in the wilderness because they saw themselves as grasshoppers in the eyes of the giants in the land! What is their problem? Identity! What caused this problem? They really did not believe in the Goodness of God that He is able to empower them to defeat the enemies and overcome the giants in the land!
The understanding of the Goodness of God will cause a revolution in our identity! “My Identity is not defined by my Work…but
My Identity will Define My Work!” In fact, our identity will define our destiny! Catch a fresh revelation of your identity today through the lens of the Goodness of God today. Amen.
