Glory- The Mantle of Ambassadors!
Romans 8:29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Num 20:8 “Take the rod; and you and your brother Aaron assemble the congregation and speak to the rock in front of them, so that it will pour out its water. In this way you shall bring water for them out of the rock and let the congregation and their livestock drink [fresh water].”
1 Cor 10:2 And all [of them] were baptized into Moses [into his safekeeping as their leader] in the cloud and in the sea; 3 and all [of them] ate the same spiritual food; 4 and all [of them] drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking from a spiritual rock which followed them; and the rock was Christ.
From the accounts of Moses walking with God, we come to realize that for us to properly represent Him is a big deal to God! When you have this understanding, you will begin to understand why Moses was denied entry into the promisedland. You might be saying, how can such a great leader miss the very mandate that was given him – to lead more than 2 million people into the promisedland?
In a moment of anger, Moses lost it! He did not listen to the instructions of God carefully or he was so fixated on old methods that he was not hearing God anymore! This is so dangerous for leaders of churches today. Our problem is often because we have heard God in the past and no longer hearing him now because we are resting on the successes of yesterday! Sometimes, we put too much weightage on the past without recognizing that my current walk with the Lord is really most critical! Am I hearing God’s voice today clearly so that I will honor Him as holy?
God wants us to represent him properly and fully! The key is to listen to Him meticulously and to obey him unreservedly. Amen.
