Financial Shakings, Lawlessness and First Love 2!
Rev 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: 3 And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. 4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
2 Tim 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2 Tim 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Paul said very clearly that the end times are perilous times! This warning from him must be heeded by the end time church so that we are well prepared for what is coming upon us. Jesus speaks about the lawlessness that will even come upon God’s people! How do we prevent ourselves from slipping into lawlessness? Many of us I am sure would find it hard to believe that this could happen to us- believers who are faithfully attending church! How can we prevent ourselves from becoming lawless?
I believe one of the keys is found in the message from Jesus to the angel at the church of Ephesus. On the surface, the church seems to be doing fine- hardworking, persevering church who loves the truth of God. Upon closer examination, something is missing! What is that? First Love! Is this so important? To Jesus Christ the Head of the church, absolutely.
In fact, if the church does not repent, He will remove the lampstand from the church which means it will cease from being His church! Now this is serious stuff.
Listen closely to this sermon and you will understand some key truths to guide you to grow in love and intimacy with the Lord.
