Fresh Fire on your Altar
Lev 6:12 The fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not go out. The priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and he shall arrange the burnt offering on it and shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. 13 Fire shall be kept burning on the altar continually; it shall not go out.
1 Peter 2:4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
1 Kings 16:32 He erected an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria. 33 And Ahab made an Asherah. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
Rev 2:4 But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent
What is the difference between a nation blessed by God and a nation living under a brass heaven? The answer can be as simple and profound as altars! When evil altars are prevailing in a nation, it will not have the best blessings of God even though God makes the sun to rise on the wicked as well as the godly.
When we look at the history of Israel, we see this principle played out on the big stage time and again. This was very pronounced in the time when Ahab and Jezebel were ruling in Israel! Instead of honouring God and worshipping Him, they erected evil altars to false gods like baal and astoreth and sponsored the evil priests and prophets to attend to them!
What happened? The altars of God were neglected and broken down! There was no fresh fire on the altars of God! Consequently, a nation declined into sin! Fresh fire must fall on the altars of our hearts before we can have fresh fire on the altars of our communities and nations! God is raising the elijah today to repair the altars and bring fresh fire to Thailand! Amen.
