The Glory of Christmas!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 14:11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves!

Matt 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you

John 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him..

John 11:40 Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?

What is Christmas really about? Many associate Christmas with santa claus more than with Jesus Christ and the true message of Christmas is often obscured by the glittering lights in this season. Is Christmas about Jesus coming to die for the sins of the people? It is certainly so and we are thankful for that but it is much more than that!

Take for example John 3:16 where it says for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son….The word world here is from the Greek word “cosmos”. What is the meaning of cosmos? It is the world, universe, worldly affairs, the inhabitants of the world. When you think about it, the purpose of God giving Jesus to die on the cross for us is not just for our redemption alone but the redemption of the entire created order! This means all of creation will be impacted by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! So God is not just interested in our salvation alone but the redemption of humanity and the entire world system!

The coming of Jesus will literally change the world. It has earth-shaking implications and it reached into all of eternity. Christmas is the most important event in History! Before Christ, there is only one way to live. But after Christ came, the curse is broken and a new order has invaded our hopeless lives! Meditate on all that God has done this season and walk in the power of revelation of it. Amen.
