The Amazing Power of Radical Repentance!

Matt 4:17 17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins, live your life in a way that proves repentance; seek God’s purpose for your life], for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

God promised blessings for His people when they obey His voice and curses when they do not heed His voice in the book of Deuteronomy. We know from history that they ended on the side of the curses as they could not obey Him in their own strength. That is why Jesus had to come for us to take away our sins and also to crucify our sinful nature at the cross of calvary. We cannot make it on our own – sinners cannot deal with the sinful nature without the power of the cross and the Holy Spirit.

How can we trigger the power of God in our lives to overcome sin and live victoriously? The Key is Repentance – radical repentance! Partial repentance leads to partial victory! Radical Repentance leads to spectacular victory and blessings! That is why the first word that Jesus uttered in His public ministry is “Repent!” We repent not just to have our sins forgiven but to enter and possess the Kingdom of God. What really is Repentance?

Traditionally, some people think of repentance of being sorrowful over our sins! But this is not sufficient. Today there are preachers who want to redefine repentance as simply changing your mind – and that is incomplete and dangerous! Without radical repentance, people could be thinking they are living in grace where in fact, they have fallen from grace!

This message is powerfully important today if we desire to want to walk in the power and fullness of the Kingdom of God! You will be richly blessed! Amen.

The Apostles and the Prophets!

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 3:34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

Matt 14:5 And although he wanted to put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

Matt 21:10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?” 11 So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.”

Heb 3:1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, 2 who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house.

Eph 2:20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone,

Eph 4:11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

From the scriptures verses listed for our reference, it is clear that Jesus is the greatest prophet and the ultimate apostle! As a prophet, He spoke the very words of God from the beginning and He has the Holy Spirit without measure. Even the people who hated him were afraid of him because the multitudes regarded him as a prophet!

In other religions today, Jesus is also regarded as a prophet but what they failed to see is that he is more than just a prophet – He was the greatest prophet and also the ultimate apostle. He was sent from heaven to earth on the most important mission in the history of humanity! Without Him completing His mission, we would still be dead in our transgressions with no hope of ever being reconciled back to Father God.

Jesus spoke the words of God and established the church to do the same. That is why in Ephesian 4, He gave gifts when He was ascending to heaven! What are these gifts? They are the gifts in the form of people called and gifted to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

The foundation of the church is established with the apostles and prophets with Jesus Christ as the chief cornerstone. Today, God is once again establishing the church on the right foundations without which we will not be built according to His pattern and be able to carry the fullness of His glory and power! Align with this foundational truth and expect to see the glory of God rising upon the church poised for great exploits through His dynamic power flowing through us. Amen.

Is Forgiveness a matter only of the Will?

Matt 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Fa-ther will also forgive you:

Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses

Micah 7:18-19 contains these wonderful words: “Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. He will again have com-passion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”

Forgiveness is one of the most important if not the most im-portant topic for a Christian and in fact, for humanity! Why? It is the basis of our right standing with God! When God for-gives us, He did it unconditionally based on the perfect, fin-ished work of His Son, Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary!

None of us deserved to be forgiven – we simply cannot do enough to earn our forgiveness! We were forgiven as we are cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus so that we can His righteousness to begin a right relationship with our Father.

In our walk with Him, if we fall into sin, and we confess them, He is faithful and just and forgive and cleanse us from all un-righteousness (1 John 1:9-10). Our fellowship become restored even as our relationship was never in question.

It is important for us to not just know we have been forgiven but also to feel His love for us which was why Jesus and to die for us. This sets us up to be able to forgive others because of what we have experienced of Him – His amazing grace, love and forgiveness! This is the basis for us to forgive others – it was never whether the other person deserved to be forgiven or not.

That is the reason why Jesus spoke about this in the Lord’s prayer (Matthew 6) and illustrated this truth in a parable in Matthew 18. The Principle of the Kingdom is forgiveness on the basis on how much we have been forgiven period! It is not just a matter of the will! Forgiveness begins in our will but must be released from our hearts. The Love of the Father will flow from our hearts to empower us to release forgiveness to others and place us in right fellowship with Him and with oth-ers! Amen.
